파리 물가, 생각보다 괜찮은 것과 아닌 것 (현실 기준)

파리는 물가가 비싸다고 많이들 생각하는데,
막상 살다 보면 꼭 그렇지만은 않아요.

물론 비싼 건 확실히 비싸지만,
의외로 괜찮은 것들도 꽤 있는 편이에요.

People tend to think Paris is really expensive, but once you actually live here, it’s not always the case.
Of course, some things are definitely pricey, but there are quite a few things that are surprisingly affordable too.

대표적으로 식재료는 생각보다 부담이 덜한 편이에요.

고기나 감자, 빵 같은 기본적인 식재료는
마트 기준으로 보면 꽤 합리적인 가격이라
집에서 간단히 먹는 생활은 오히려 괜찮은 편이에요.

물이나 휴대폰 요금도 한국에 비해 크게 부담되는 느낌은 아니고요.

Groceries are actually not as expensive as you might expect.

Basic ingredients like meat, potatoes, and baguettes are quite reasonably priced in supermarkets, so eating simple meals at home is actually pretty manageable.
Even things like water and mobile phone bills don’t feel significantly more expensive compared to Korea.

 

마트 기준으로 보면, 이렇게 장 보는 건 크게 부담되지 않는 편이에요. (ça dépend, bien sûr)

반대로 생활 전반적인 비용은 확실히 높은 편이에요.

전기세는 생각보다 체감이 꽤 큰 편인데,
특히 겨울에는 난방을 전기에 의존하는 경우가 많아서,
조금만 오래 켜놔도 금방 요금이 올라가는 느낌이에요.

그래서인지 파리에서는
전기를 아껴 쓰는 습관이 자연스럽게 생기게 되는 것 같아요.

외식비는 한 번 나가면 쉽게 가격이 올라가요.
식당에서 햄버거 세트 하나 먹어도 20유로 기본이니까.

(맥날 논외지만 맥날, 파파이스도 비싸요)

Overall, the cost of living is definitely on the higher side.

Electricity bills feel more significant than expected.
Especially in winter, since heating often relies on electricity,
even leaving it on for a little longer can make the bill go up quickly.

Because of that, you naturally develop a habit of saving electricity in Paris.

Eating out is also expensive.
Once you go out, the costs add up easily.
Even a simple burger set at a restaurant usually starts at around 20 euros.

작은 커피에 각각 작은 빵 1인 약 2만원 🤔

특히 교통비나 일상적인 소비까지 합치면,
‘생활 자체’가 비싸다는 느낌이 드는 순간들이 많아요.

한국 물가와 직접 비교하기는 어렵지만,
지금 기준에서 보면 파리는
‘싸다’기보다는 ‘돈 쓰는 방식이 다른 도시’에 가까운 것 같아요.

그래서 파리에서는
어디에 돈을 쓰느냐가 더 중요해지는 것 같아요.

외식이나 생활비는 부담이 크지만,
식재료나 기본적인 소비는 오히려 균형이 맞는 느낌이에요.

이런 기준만 잡히면,
생각보다 덜 스트레스 받으면서 살 수 있는 도시이기도 해요.

그래서 파리에서는 얼마나 자주 사느냐보다, 무엇을 사서, ‘얼마나 오래 쓰는가’를 더 중요하게 생각하게 되는 것 같아요.

When you add transportation costs and everyday spending,
there are many moments when you really feel that “just living” here is expensive.

It’s hard to directly compare it to prices in Korea,
but at least for now, Paris feels less like a “cheap” city
and more like a place where people simply spend money differently.

Because of that, living in Paris makes you think more carefully about where your money goes.

While dining out and general living expenses can feel quite burdensome,
groceries and basic daily spending actually feel relatively balanced.

Once you find your own 기준 (sense of balance),
it can be a city where you live with less stress than you might expect.


In Paris, it’s not so much about how often you buy things,
but rather what you buy—and how long you end up using it.
